New York Harlem Singers Concert in Genting




Persatuan Kebajikan HOPE worldwide KL has successfully organised charity Concert in Genting Arena of Star on the 24th Dec 2008. Despite many challenges, we pull through an awesome concert with International Standard. The Amazing thing about this concert is that the concert was a 100% volunteerism effort.

Not forgetting all our donors who brought the tickets and watch the show, thank you!. As for the 300 0dd volunteers, thank you for making the show successful. My Sincere thanks to our amazing host Terence Dass & Angeline Chong for interacting with the audience.

Cheque Presentation by Sri KDU



Firstly, I would like to thank Sri KDU Primary School for making a contributon on the 31st of Oct to HOPE worldwide through their annual international food fair. We would like to thank all the students & their parents for making this possible.

Four other NGOs also present on that day to receive the donation from Sri KDU. All of us were entertained by a violin rendition and a dance by the talented students. A big thank you on behalf of the needy community and you help made the difference.

Free Vegetables for the poor

A Good Samaritan today donated cartons of vegetables to the under privileged community in Sentul through our organisation HOPE worldwide. Close to 30 families brought their plastic bags to collect these vegetables which will last them for 3 to 4 days.



Many walked away with smiles on their face, as if longing for more freebies in the future. Today is the first day Hari Raya, a day where the Muslim around the world celebrate their new year, certainly these act of giving will certainly add joy to those who need most. May God bless the good hearted Samaritan for taking the initiative to help elevate many who are suffering social economically.

Western Union Foundation Day at HOPE worldwide



On Sat 27th Sept staff from Western Union spend their afternoon volunteering at the Centre of HOPE worldwide. Children from the Creative Art Program enjoy an afternoon of mentoring by fellow Western Union staff with the guidance from our Creative art teacher, Ms Yvonne Au Yong. HOPE worldwide Creative Art Program is held on every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month.


The children from the poor community, show case their talent to the guest despite their difficult life style. At the end of the event, all these children we pampered with goodie bag courtesy of Western Union.

Reading Cheer with KDU Engineering Students




On the 27th Sept, a group of Engineering students from KDU brought fun and cheer to our reading program. Students were out of themselves, dancing to nursery rhymes, cheering the kids during the games session and mentoring them during the reading session.



Sabrina, daughter of our volunteer, Sandra, mesmerized the kids with her story telling skills making the kids longing for more. At the end of the session, hats off to all these students for making our children special.

Ramadan Month gift of Love by DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd

Pn Zairina is so glad that she is able to have a decent dinner after fasting the whole day today thanks to the “Ramadan Month Groceries Distribution” sponsored by DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd. Pn Zairina is one of the 100 poor families from the community of Sentul the received the food aid which consist of Rice, Malt drink, Margarine, Biscuits, Dates & etc.


During this event, a total of 20 volunteers who are DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd Associates led by its Managing Director Mr. Hidekuni Sugi, spend 3 hours distributing groceries to the underprivileged & visiting 3 families from the slum as part of their corporate social responsibility intiatives.

“We choose HOPE worldwide Kuala Lumpur because the organisation has diversified programs to empower multi ethnic needy communities” said Ms Sandra, CSR Project Leader. DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd donated a total of RM10,000 to support groceries program & donated books to HOPE worldwide Kuala Lumpur Mini Library.

To add to this meaningful outing, Mr Sugi handed out Festive Green Packet to 40 children. “It is a very moving experience to visit families who lacks so many things in life” said Mr Sugi as he personally hand out groceries to Mrs Thanaletchumi, Pn Zairina & Mdm Ng Kow Mooi at their squatter homes.



Here I want to take this opportunity to thank DENSO (M) Sdn Bhd for making this Ramadan a meaningful ones.

Fundraising Seminar with Mal Warwick



A total of 43 representatives from 26 NGOs spend 2 days learning from the Guru of fundraising, Mal Warwick on the 17th Sept. It is an amazing 2 days seminar at the Tropicana Golf & Country Club helping fellow Non Profits leader learn about fundraising. It is a time for social network with different NGOs, exchanging ideas & contact, learning from each others best practices and not to do list. At the end of this excutive seminar all of us walk away empowered, having the confidence to raise more money to help those needy not forgeting meeting new friends and catching with those long lost. I want to personally thank Resource Aliance Malaysia, Jessie Tiong for making this seminar affordable for all of us to attend and learn.

Reading Program Volunteerism with Berjaya Starbucks



Starbucks Staff from the Mall Outlet, took off thier apron for a afternoon. It is for a good cause!!. 5 of thier staffs decided to come to HOPE worldwide Centre of HOPE to volunteer themself in our reading program. The Reading program is a program that empower underprivileged children with the opportunity to learn reading in English using interactive activities & the used of multimedia equipments.



During a short break, all the non-muslim children were also being treated with starbucks ice chocolate drinks and some delicious tiramisu & rasberry cheese mooncake. The children simply loves it.


The session ended with starbucks staff bringing the children next door for a reading time at our cosy mini library. Again the children enjoy so much that we have to remind them to go home. I want to take this opportunity to thank Starbucks for making the session awesome.
